About the customer
Barnsley Hospice is a local charity providing specialist care and support for people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families and carers, across Barnsley and the surrounding area. Its services include inpatient and outpatient care, community support, wellbeing services and bereavement support, delivered by a multidisciplinary team. The hospice also relies on fundraising, volunteers and its charity shops to help fund its services and support the local community.
The room
Aurora's one-wall immersive solution combines high-quality projection, immersive audio and dynamic lighting to transform Barnsley Hospice's clinical environment into calming, familiar or uplifting experiences, allowing patients to revisit cherished memories, explore favourite places or simply enjoy a peaceful escape from their surroundings.
A gentleman with Alzheimer’s came in quite confused and unsettled due to being in and out of hospital. The calming scenes from flowers really grounded him as gardening is something he loved doing at home.
