About the customer
Exeter Library, operated by Libraries Unlimited, is a major community and cultural hub in Exeter offering access to books, digital resources, computers and Wi-Fi, alongside events, learning activities and meeting spaces. The library also supports creativity and enterprise through facilities such as FabLab Devon and the Business and Intellectual Property Centre, making it a versatile space for learning, work and community engagement.
The room
Aurora created a dedicated sensory environment at Exeter Library, providing an inclusive space where visitors can step away from the wider library environment and experience a calmer, more controlled setting. The sensory room supports accessibility and gives children, families and visitors a flexible space to relax, regulate and engage.
The sensory zone has been a fantastic addition to our Children’s Library, helping us demonstrate our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. Families have told us how much they value having a dedicated space that feels both exciting and calming, depending on their needs. Staff have found it easy to set up and manage, and we’re already seeing children return for repeat visits.
